Welcome to Mink Island

Happy Holidays from sunny Florida. Just saw Pompano Beach Parade last nite and got ideas for next year's Mink Island Xmas Parade. Cannot wait to see everyone!!!

We have returned from Florida and opened #14 Mink Island for the summer.

Look forward to seeing everyone and to enjoying a great summer on the River.

Just saw the post on the memorial garden and we so wish we could attend. Deborah on way to NYC that weekend so we will be puppy sitting for a week. While Jake is a good dog, he is scared of deep water and so we must pass. Jake is out of New Mexico,likes the sun, a rescued border collie that HATES cats. We think he was trained to hunt them but he is gun shy so he went to the pound. We think of you often and wonder how you are doing. Love the idea of a memorial garden on the path. Shep would tend the plants for you (job now handed over to other critters) and George would enjoy the antics that it brings. Talked to the Johnson's and they also are doggy sitting for Molly (dog Tyson) and Nate (dog Moose). We all have such lousy luck. Please let me know when you are back up to the river. We were there 2 weeks ago and asked if you were around but we had missed you. Love Carol

The River
When you think of the River, think of me.
I'll be there smiling in the ripples of it's sun-drenched waters.
I'll be there is the blue of it's peaceful vastness.
I'll be there still watching the ships go by in my favorite summer garb.
When you think of the River, think of all the glorious times it has brought us.
Think of the cottage openings and closings we have spent together.
Think of the holidays spent there as well as the ones we longed to spend there.
Think of the warm nights, fast-moving storms and sun-filled days.
The River has become such a wonderful part of me, of us, of family. And, at some point in time--me, us, we, will all become one.
So, when you think of the River, smile and think of me, of us, of family.

How cute and what a head of hair. We miss being on the island in the summers but time marches on and moves us in different direction for the moment. Enjoying the site. Keep up the good work.
